Theory
Assessment
Theory assessments
are used to determine competence in areas where it is impossible to conduct
practical assessment. Typically this includes issues such as PPE, hazards,
tagging, pipe markings, etc. The theory assessment is normally in multi-choice
question format.
Practical
Assessment
Practical assessments
are the favoured method with which to test a person's competence in a
given task or discipline. A practical or competency-based assessment calls
for the trainee to demonstrate certain tasks to the satisfaction of the
assessor.
